How big is the pool?

22.86 metres long by approximately 9 metres wide.

How deep is the pool and what is the accessibility?

Shallow end – 1.2m, this side has steps

Deep end – 2.1m

What is the temperature of the pool?

29°C in the main summer season only. For winter we have cold water swimming where the pool is unheated; in spring the heating is turned on so that the pool gradually warms up (called the shoulder season) and in autumn the heating is turned off for another shoulder season as the pool cools down.

What is the refund/transfer policy?

There are no refunds; transfers are allowed as long they are made at least 24hrs in advance. Just go to your booking online and choose Ticket Options.

Are flippers and snorkels allowed?

Yes, as long as the Lido isn’t too busy. Please ask the lifeguard when you enter.

Can I bring my own inflatables/toys?

Yes, as long as they are small and the pool isn’t too busy. Please ask the lifeguard when you enter.

Is the inflatable running this year?

No, the inflatable is not in operation.

Am I allowed to take photos?

No, photos are not allowed.

What are the supervision requirements for 5 and 8 year olds?

Children under the age of 8 must be accompanied in the pool by a parent/carer, at all times, on a ratio of 1 adult: 2 under 8s.

Are there lockers?

Yes, we have lockers. Please bring £1 to operate the locker.

Do I have to book a session or can I just turn up?

We recommend you book your session to reserve a place. There is no guarantee that you can enter if you haven’t booked.

Do I have to live in Shaftesbury to use the pool?

The Lido is open to everyone, no matter where you live. Please enjoy the pool all year round.

Can I book two consecutive sessions?

Yes, just add the sessions you wish to book and pay for your sessions.

How do I enter the card expiry date on the booking system?

The expiry date is the full year, not just the last two digits. (i.e. 2025, not 25)

Do you take both cash and card?

Yes, we take both.

Are dog allowed at the Lido?

No, unless it is a guide dog, dogs are not allowed.
