75th anniversary of Victory in Europe Day

Celebrate at home on Friday 8th May 2020! Follow us on social media throughout the day to join in with the Nation and Town celebrations.

 

3:00pm – The Nation’s Toast to the Heroes of World War 2
Raise a glass with the nation. Winston Churchill’s speech to the nation on 8th May 1945,  watch here

 

12 noon – An Address to the Town

Mayor of Shaftesbury, Cllr Tim Cook adresses the Town, watch here

 

6:55pm – A Cry for Peace
The Town Crier, a cry for peace around the world, watch here

 

9:00pm – Join the nation in a singalong of ‘We’ll Meet Again’
