Civil Ceremonies & Weddings

Civil ceremonies are held in the Council Chamber which is the larger of the rooms on the first floor of the Town Hall. The room can accommodate up to 60 guests yet still provide a cosy and intimate feel for smaller occasions.

The room commands a dignified and historically interesting presence with a wood panelled display case and scene setting chandelier.

With a traditional air the Council Chamber is the perfect setting for a civil ceremony. The room layout can be set up in several different ways, depending on the requirements of the happy couple. We offer as standard wooden turned pillars to create a walk way, silk flower arrangements, white chair covers with peach/cream sashes. Different coloured sashes to suit can be provided at an additional fee, or you may have your own ideas which we will happily discuss with you.

There are numerous locations close by for wonderful photographic opportunities, not at least Gold Hill which is at the rear of the building and Park Walk just a couple of minutes walk away with far reaching views of the Blackmore Vale and beyond.

If you would like any further information on what we can offer you for your special occasion, or would like a viewing, please do not hesitate to call. Tel No 01747 852420 and ask for Tracy or email; office@shaftesbury-tc.gov.uk
