Shaftesbury Lido Deputy Pool Manager

Permanent | 20 hours per week

We’re looking for a friendly, organised and experienced Deputy Pool Manager to join our team at the Lido.

Working closely with the Pool Manager, you’ll help ensure the safe, efficient and welcoming day-to-day operation of the Lido. You’ll coordinate staff, support customer service, oversee daily operational activities and deputise for the Pool Manager when required.

What you’ll be doing

  • Supporting the day-to-day operation of the Lido.
  • Managing staff rotas and helping coordinate operational cover.
  • Supporting recruitment, induction and staff development.
  • Providing excellent customer service and responding to enquiries.
  • Monitoring operational, safety and housekeeping checks.
  • Supporting safe working practices and pool operations.
  • Deputising for the Pool Manager during periods of leave or absence.

 

What we’re looking for

Essential requirements include:

 

  • National Pool Lifeguard Qualification (NPLQ)
  • Pool Plant Operator Qualification (NPPO)
  • Operational experience within the swimming pool industry
  • Experience supervising or coordinating staff
  • Good customer service, IT and administrative skills
  • Operational health and safety experience (IOSH)

Salary and hours

  • £29,064 (£15.06 p/h) per annum pro rata
  • 20 hours per week – working hours agreed with the Pool Manager. Working pattern may differ through Summer and Cold Water seasons.

Deputy Pool Manager Job Description

It is the only lido in Dorset and is open for everyone to enjoy. Today, the pool provides residents with a great place to learn to swim, as well as a range of activities, including Parent & Toddler, Aqua Fit, and Naked Swimming in the Summer and Cold Water Swimming in the Winter.

Shaftesbury Lido Duty Supervisors

We are looking for Duty Supervisors to join our team at Shaftesbury Lido, Dorset’s only lido. As a Duty Supervisor, you will play a crucial role in supporting the day-to-day safe operation of the pool and providing a great experience for our swimmers.

We are recruiting for our upcoming main season, open seven days a week plus events such as our full moon swims. NLPQ is essential.

Various shifts available

Hours and pay

  • Hourly rate is dependent on age
  • 21 and over £14 per hour
  • 18 to 20 £13.22 per hour

Your role

  • Deliver a professional service to all users of the facility and display a high level of consistent customer service.
  • Professional communication standards through telephone and email correspondence.
  • Operational responsibility for all aspects of the facility including health & safety, safeguarding and customer experience management.
  • Oversee lifeguards while on shift, including mornings, evenings and weekends.
  • Day to day operation of Lido management, including payments, bookings and active management of activity sessions. To include the responsibility of full daily open up and closing down of the Lido including cashing up at the end of each day.
  • Ensure all Normal Operating Procedures (NOP) are followed and if required Emergency Action Plans (EAP) are actioned.
  • Undertake pool plant and lifeguard duties as required.
  • Upkeep and development of the opening and closing checklists, and daily and weekly task sheets.
  • Maintain an up-to-date knowledge of Lido safeguarding policies and procedures, in particular with regard to the recruitment and retention of staff.
  • Help maintain a motivated and happy team of lifeguards.

The Essentials

  • A National Pool Lifeguard  Qualification (NPLQ) from a recognised organisation.
  • Strong communication skills to interact positively with guests of all ages.
  • Ability to stay calm and make quick decisions in emergencies.
  • A commitment to high standards with a supportive and flexible approach to undertake any role within the team.
  • Some team management experience or knowledge
  • Must be physically fit, capable of swimming distances, and performing rescues.
  • Minimum age is 18 years old.

Duty Supervisor Job Description

We are looking for pool attendants to join our team at Shaftesbury Lido, Dorset’s only lido. As a pool attendant, you will play a crucial role in monitoring pool activities and providing a great experience for our swimmers.

We are recruiting for our upcoming main season, open seven days a week plus events such as our full moon swims. NLPQ is essential.

Your role

  • Ensure the safety of all swimmers and visitors by monitoring pool activities.
  • Welcome guests to the pool and provide reception duties.
  • Help prevent accidents by enforcing pool rules and regulations.
  • Carry out daily checks and cleaning duties to keep the pool area and facilities clean and hygienic, tidy and safe.
  • Respond quickly to emergencies, providing first aid and rescue assistance.
  • Share safety guidelines and procedures with our guests.
  • Maintain accurate records of any incidents, accidents, and rescues.
  • Participate in regular training sessions to keep your lifeguarding skills top-notch.

Pool Attendant Job Description

Shaftesbury Lido Swim Teachers

We are looking for Swim Teachers to teach at Shaftesbury Lido, Dorset’s only lido from 1st June. You will be teaching our local school group swim lessons. There’s an opportunity to teach 1-1 lessons at the pool for private clients.

Hours and pay

  • £25 per hour
  • Mondays and/or Thursdays 1pm to 3pm

The Essentials

  • STA Certificate or Swim England Level 2
