Shaftesbury Community Litter Pick – Volunteers Invited to Help
Residents are warmly invited to take part in a Shaftesbury community litter pick on Saturday 21st March, organised by local volunteers Hilltop Litter Pickers together with town councillors as part of the national Great British Spring Clean.
The event supports Keep Britain Tidy’s campaign message, “Love Where You Live”, encouraging people to take simple actions that help care for the places we all share. Community litter picks are a practical way for residents to work together to keep Shaftesbury clean and welcoming.
Helping keep Shaftesbury tidy
This community litter pick will focus mainly on areas in and around Ten Acres. Volunteers will work in small teams led by Hilltop Litter Pickers, a local group that regularly gives their time to help keep the town tidy.
Equipment will be provided on the day, although volunteers are asked to bring their own protective gloves.
The litter pick is planned to run from 2pm until 4pm, although as the focus area is quite localised it may not require the full two hours.
Everyone welcome to join
Everyone is welcome to take part in the Shaftesbury community litter pick, whether you can stay for a short time or the whole session.
Children are very welcome, but must be supervised by a responsible adult at all times.
Residents who are planning to attend are encouraged to contact the Town Hall to register their interest so organisers can make sure there is enough equipment available. However, the most important thing is simply to come along and help.
