Mollie Budd

I have lived in Shaftesbury my whole life, first in Nettlecombe, then Coppice Street and now Imber Road. When I consider why I have stayed here this long, an American couple visiting the Mitre put it perfectly, “you get to live in our holiday destination.” There are few places that rival the views, historical significance and community events of Shaftesbury—and I look forward to taking on a more active role in the town.

I attended Shaftesbury School as a student and couldn’t keep away: returning to teach Maths following my BSc Politics, Philosophy and Economics degree. Following my time teaching at Shaftesbury School, I completed an MSc in Learning and Teaching, and worked as Head of Economics at another local secondary school. I left the classroom in 2025 to work in politics. I am eager to bring my experience of working with the young people of the town to the council.
