Artisan market to be trialled in town

We are delighted to be trialling a new monthly artisan market in Shaftesbury this year.

The Market will feature over 100 stalls, made up of work by local artisans, craftspeople and food producers. Alongside the stalls, there will also be free music and entertainment. Profits from the market will be invested back into helping the community with local projects and initiatives.

Dates have been confirmed (you may have seen our poster) and the first market will take place on Saturday 13 May – so add it to your diary! For the moment, we are going to be running the market on a combination of Saturdays and Sundays to work out which day is most popular.

We are already very proud of our independent high street and so our aim is that the Shaftesbury Market will complement our existing offer, as well as help to bring new visitors to the town. To that end, we have been consulting with the Shaftesbury High Street Working Group to develop plans and ensure that the Market will be a good fit for the town. Jules Bradburn who is responsible for helping to set up the Sherborne Market has been working tirelessly behind the scenes to bring this market to fruition.

Whether you’re interested in finding out about our stallholders or are thinking about becoming one yourself, you can find more details on our website: www.theshaftesburymarket.com.
