Following a successful four-week trial, we are delighted to announce that we will be continuing our cold-water swimming sessions in January 2024.
We will reopen the doors on Saturday 6th January and sessions will take place every Saturday through to March at the following times: 9am, 9.30am, 10am and 10.30am.
We have been overwhelmed by the popularity of these sessions with around 200 people attending over the course of the trial period. What has become evident, is that there is a fantastic community of cold-water swimmers who are keen to have a facility closer to home or an alternative for days when the sea is too rough.
Town Clerk, Brie Logan, commented: “We have been so blown away by the positive response to our cold-water swimming trial and are over the moon that these sessions will help the Lido to become a true community facility that is open all year round.
“We could not have had this success without the support of our Pool Attendants, Adam and Alice, and our cold-water experts, Harriet and Lindsay. They have made the experience what it is and have proved very popular with our swimmers.
“Lastly, thanks to all of those who completed our survey as it’s this feedback that has enabled us to continue these sessions into the New Year.”
