NATIONAL TREE WEEK 22 – 30 NOVEMBER 2025
Initiated by the Tree Council, National Tree Week gives us a chance to focus on the wonderful array of trees around us and to ensure we have ways of caring for them.
Shaftesbury Tree Group are compiling a new small poster of the town’s trees. Please share your appreciation of our trees and hedges by emailing Shaftesbury Tree Group photos of your favourite trees in Shaftesbury (with locations) for possible inclusion in posters and website. They are also interested to know where you think more trees could be planted along road verges and other places in the locality.
Enjoy a wander through the trees locally
there are still some lovely colours
and increasingly visible sculptural shapes of branches and trunks
to see us through the darker days.
Whatever season it mid be,
The trees be always company.
– William Barnes. 19th century Dorset poet

Shaftesbury Tree Group was formed in 2002 to help safeguard our existing trees and to help plant new ones.
