Public Budget Meeting – Join the Conversation
Residents are invited to attend our annual Public Budget Meeting on Tuesday 16th December, from 6pm to 7pm at Shaftesbury Town Hall. This session is an opportunity to learn how Shaftesbury Town Council is shaping its budget for the financial year ahead and to share your thoughts before the final plans are agreed.
During the meeting, the proposed 2026–2027 budget will be outlined, along with an explanation of how the budget-setting process works and how it influences the precept—the portion of Council Tax that funds Shaftesbury Town Council’s services and projects. Councillors and the Interim Town Clerk will be available to provide clarity on the plans, discuss anticipated spending, and answer any questions residents may have.
Taking part at this stage is important. The final budget will directly shape the precept, the amount that Shaftesbury Town Council receives from every household’s Council Tax bill to deliver local services and projects. By joining the conversation now, residents can share feedback, raise ideas, and contribute meaningfully before the budget is confirmed.
Your involvement plays an important role in developing a balanced, transparent, and responsible budget that reflects local priorities.
Refreshments will be provided, and all residents are welcome. We look forward to seeing you there.
