As part of the wider programme of works to the Town Hall, scaffolding will be erected to the outside of the building on Monday 23rd October in preparation for the work to start the following week. 

Works will include the following:

• reroofing the building using natural slate and adding solar PV panels
• adding guarding to parapets
• reconstruction of the south side of the clock chamber
• various repairs to the rainwater system, including rerouting and replacement of the north east downpipe
• general stone repairs to all four elevations, including the entrance porch
• refurbishment of north-facing leaded windows
• redecoration of external windows and doors.

The council office will remain open and our regular hall hirers should not be affected.
