Shaftesbury Market

As a Saxon Hilltop Town, Shaftesbury has one of the most beautiful and commanding settings of any market town in England. Located on ancient trade routes, Shaftesbury has been a market centre for centuries, and today as well as the regular Thursday charter market there are Farmers’ Markets, book fairs, flea markets, an annual Food Festival plus the occasional French Market all of which add to the bustling atmosphere of this famous occasion.

Shaftesbury, home of the famous “Hovis Hill” on Gold Hill regularly attracts coaches loaded with tourists from all corners of the globe. Well served with a wide selection of quality cafes, pubs and restaurants, the award winning Abbey Museum and gardens, stunning views it is an extremely popular destination.

We are seeking to expand the Market to include The Commons and extend further down the High Street. If you would like to be part of the Shaftesbury charter market, please contact us at the above address or alternatively come along and visit us any Thursday. The Town Hall office is less than a stone’s throw away from the market and we’d love to meet with you and discuss forthcoming events and of course our weekly charter market.

Market rent is £19.00 per 10 ft pitch.
