Shaftesbury Town Council welcomed Matthew Harrison last week, who joined the Town Council as the new Town Clerk.

As Town Clerk, Matthew will play a key role in supporting the Council, overseeing operations and helping guide the continued growth and development of our town.

Matthew shared his thoughts on joining the Council.

“Thank you to everyone who has been so welcoming to me in my first week; I have spent my time focusing on understanding the immediate priorities, how the officer team works and setting-up meetings with key stakeholders. Shaftesbury truly is a beautiful place and I look forward to working here with councillors and supporting residents.”

Matthew was officially welcomed by our Mayor of Shaftesbury, Cllr Andy Hollingshead.
